Remixing & the chat agent
A remix is a chat workspace grounded in a source video. The agent has watched the video and read its transcript; you steer it toward either a guide you film yourself or prompts for generated footage.
Starting a remix
Two ways in:
- From Trends — hit Remix on any trend card.
- From a URL — paste a TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram link into Import. Works on every plan.
There's also a sandboxmode with no source video at all — a blank chat for developing an idea from scratch. Every workspace, whichever kind, draws from your plan's monthly workspace allowance (see billing).
Script mode — a guide you film yourself
In script mode the agent maintains a filming guide: a hook, a call to action, and beat-by-beat instructions — what to say, what to do on camera, and where to cut. The guide lives in a panel beside the chat and updates as the conversation evolves. In a remix it's grounded in the source video's structure; in a sandbox the agent first interviews you about the video type, topic, platform, and length.
Director mode — prompts for generated footage
Director mode swaps the agent into a cinematography-literate prompt writer backed by a vision-capable model. It produces detailed, camera-aware render prompts instead of a filming guide. Script and director are mutually exclusive — turning one on turns the other off.
Three dials shape director output:
- Style preset — photoreal, cinematic, editorial, or stylized; applied to every image prompt.
- Cinema mode — a canonical camera treatment, available with the cinematic and editorial presets.
- Source stance — how closely to follow the source video: continue it, take inspiration (default), or reinterpret it.
Deep Think
Deep Think routes a turn to a heavyweight reasoning model for the hardest creative problems. It consumes chat capacity much faster than a normal turn (12× weight vs. 3× for director turns), so save it for moments that need it. Available on Pro and above.
Chat capacity
Each workspace has a chat budget that scales with your plan. Normal turns cost 1 unit, director turns 3, Deep Think turns 12. When a project fills its base budget, it extends automatically from a monthly bonus pool shared across your projects; once the pool drains, further extensions cost 50 render credits each.
Locked character
A remix can pin a locked character— a visual identity spec (and optionally a companion image) that the agent works into every prompt and renders anchor against. It's captured automatically from the source video when possible, and you can edit it, swap in a Library character, or pause it from the pill above the chat.
Generating from chat
When the agent produces a render prompt (a fenced block in the chat), the Generate button ships it to the render pipeline as an image or video job.
